TELEMARKETER SCAM ALERT
A caller that identified himself as Eric Peterson has been calling Ashland County businesses asking for donations for the Ashland County Sheriff's "Department" advertisement magnets. Caller also asked for credit card information. The caller’s phone number (which may be spoofed) was 682-428-7741. He did not identify what company he was working for.
The Ashland County Sheriff’s Office is not currently soliciting advertisements for magnets, calendars or any other marketing materials. If this person calls you, do not give him any personal identity or credit card information. Just hang up.
If you have already given such information. Contact your bank and put a hold on your credit card to freeze any questionable charges against it. Then call us at: 419-289-3911 (Option 9) to report the incident.
